Qualitative localization applied to routing and MAC layer in Wireless Sensor Networks
by Karel Heurtefeux from Synchrone
Abstract: Sensor networks are large scale networks, dense and energy constrained. In this context, it is often useful to have information on the proximity between neighbor's sensors. For reasons of latency, robustness and energy, deployed protocols must be localized. We propose a new metric based on local topology: the proximity index and the Qualitative Localization Protocol (QLoP). Then, we studies two
different applications of QLoP: Routing in noisy environment and a new Medium Access Control (MAC) layer protocol.
